Change’s power

We are witnessing a time unlike anything many of us have experienced in our lives. Like many of you, I am trying to make sense of it all — contemplating what to do. Do we hold firm? Do we keep our grip on the things we believe in so deeply, clinging to what is already falling? No matter where we stand on the issues, one thing is evident for all of us — there is a massive shift in energy. Change and collapse are happening, and none of it is anyone's fault.

No action any of us could have taken or not taken has caused the reality of our existence right now. And before we can rebuild, there is something that must be allowed — the grief of what is falling. The healing road does not begin at the destination. It begins here, in the honest reckoning with what is already gone.

There will come a time for a necessary rebuild — however that looks for each one of us.

So what do we do now in this chaos?

Where do we find hope that things aren't left irreparable?

How and where can we focus on ourselves and our community, grieve what is falling, heal, and begin to rebuild?

These are the questions I've been asking. And this is what my Spirit said to me:

Do not get comfortable with monotony.

Do not allow yourself to become attached to anything.

Everything has an ending and therefore needs to be released for change.

There is always death and rebirth. You must allow a thing to die and accept its rebirth.

This is the only place you lie in comfort —

This is the circle of life.

And peace and comfort and calm lie in the center of the circle.

Change spins constantly around the circle, like the spokes of a wheel. Stability is anchored in the center.

Chaos begins when we believe the false idea that change can be controlled.

When we arrogantly think our power is capable of being strong enough to control change, let's not conflate that with having or a sign of achieving higher power.

This belief is what brings about chaos.

You do this every time you hold on to something and don't release it — when you try to hold on to the spokes and don't release them — when you don't allow the wheel to do what it does — spin, move constantly and change.

You don't have the power to control change.

Change cannot be controlled; it is its own power.

What is the absolute truth about a higher power and achieving it?

Higher power is the ability and skill to sit in the center of the circle in that area of pause, allowing the spokes to move as they do and spin and releasing them when they get stuck.

This is the real power.

Your higher power and change's power are of the same level of energy and require mutual respect only. Change is not trying to control you, so stop trying to control it.

Change ain't thinking about your power.

It knows what it does.

And change may sometimes bump you — knock you off a little out of the center, which is not its intent. Pay attention, and you won't get bumped.

Change is going around the circle minding its own damn business — moving how it do, spinning in the truth of its power.

Your power is balancing, and having the ability to be balanced in the center of the circle — on the nut of the wheel.

That is being comfortable with the uncomfortable.

That is having peace amongst the chaos, and that is having the strength to sit still where there is pause, and having the courage even to attempt to try.

That is the truth — so get there. Get to the center — you are protected. That is where you will have peace. That is where you find comfort. It is where your community is. It is where hope and joy remain. It is your foundation. And it is where you plan and rebuild.

This is what you do: Get to the center of the circle.
