Day 25 Ancestral Reconnection | The Forts: Osu
Osu Castle | Christiansborg | Accra, Ghana
Choosing to release keeps you open for reconnection.
Ancestral reconnection is not clean. It is not simple.
It is joy and grief holding hands in the same body at the same moment.
I stood on this ground and felt both.
I have traveled this journey before, but this time I was seeing it for the first time.
Not because the journey or Ghana changed.
Because I had.
Ghana didn't demolish these buildings. They reclaimed them.
They preserved the horror and
the beauty together. They tell the story through their own eyes. Their own narrative. Their own truth.
That is what reconnection looks like.
Not erasing what happened.
Reclaiming the ground it happened on.
